Responsibilities

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Supervise preparation and service of food/beverage to patrons in a friendly and efficient manner 
  • Operate and maintain the Food & Beverage stand in compliance with the Health Code and Event Center policies including Michigan Liquor Law mandated procedures. 
  • Ensures all employees properly check I.D., assuring compliance with one beer limit - as directed by the F&B Manager. 
  • Ensures that all employees know and use proper food portions, and that all employees know and serve food at proper temperatures.
  • Oversee proper handling of money, tips, and countable items by employees and provide change when needed.
  • Report employee discipline problems to the F&B Manager.
  • Train all staff on proper clean-up procedures
  • Inspect stand for cleanliness and proper food labeling and storage before dismissing any staff
  • Retain at least 2 staff members for inspection by the F&B Manager.
  • Count in all items at beginning of event; count out at end; record on paperwork
  • Check in all requisitioned items before and during the event; record on paperwork
  • Maintain spoilage bucket and record all containers and food/beverage spoiled
  • Submit spoiled items in the spoilage bucket at end of event
  • Request change as needed
  • Complete the sales report and submit with bank and deposit
  • Complete and submit requisition for next event with sales report
  • Report any items which need repair or replacement

Qualifications

What You Need for this Position

  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Work evenings, nights, weekends and holidays
  • Able to stand for long periods of time, up to 8 hours or more
  • Able to stoop and bend
  • Able to lift up to 40 pounds from time to time
  • Able to comply with safety and health code standards
  • Able to handle responsibilities that require repetitive motion tasks
